2022 - A year for growth

Let’s take a break from the business side of things. We get it, the new year is here, and you have so much that you want to accomplish. Whether it is to dabble into a healthier lifestyle, improve your mental health, explore new sights, dedicate more time to your loved ones, or just keep doing as great as you have been doing. Here at TrüNorth Global™, we are proud of you for trying, and we want to send you the best energy.

It is never easy to engage in new habits. It takes time, and sometimes you have to do things you never saw yourself doing. Drinking around 3 liters of water a day? Exercising for at least 30 minutes a day? Working over 8 hours a day to start your side business? It takes courage and determination to succeed. You shouldn’t rush it. The trick is to enjoy every step of the process.

We want you to start by taking the first step and not being afraid of starting from scratch. No matter where you are in your process, you are going in the right direction as long as you get going. Here are some of the most common new year resolutions and tips on how to accomplish them if you are in the trucking industry:

  • Eat healthier or change your diet.

It sounds challenging, but it brings a considerable amount of benefits to your mind and body. As a truck driver or machine operator, you face long days at work and don’t get home until a couple of days or even weeks later. We understand that sometimes you are forced to eat outside, and there aren’t as many healthy options out there.

Fortunately, you can find a way around it. You can have an occasional burger. Maybe you can order it with light or no mayonnaise and add a healthier option like mashed potatoes or fruit as a side. We suggest you look for restaurants that offer grilled meats and reduce the ingest of fried food. On the other hand, if your truck has a spacious fridge, you can store meals for up to six or seven days. Try meals rich in protein and vegetables, and bring snacks like almonds and fruits.

  • Workout on the road.

You have driven or operated a machine for longer than 8 hours; you are exhausted, and hitting the gym might be the last thing you want to do. The truth is that what you give your body is what your body will request from you. The more you sleep, the more you’ll want to sleep; the more you exercise, the more your body will want to move, so you might be better off starting with baby steps.

Consider adding a daily walk to your routine. It can start with 15 minutes and eventually go up to 30. Besides the physical benefits of going on a walk, it also helps release stress and relief your mind from a difficult day.

  • Travel more.

We get it. You travel a lot. But we are not talking about being on the road for work. Consider including a vacation trip into your finances. Consider traveling when work is slow, and you won’t miss too much work. This lets you unwind and come back ready to hit the road.

You don’t need to go far to have a relaxing time, but if you do, make sure to check different websites for specials and discounts.

  • Spend more time with loved ones.

Sometimes we get too invested in our jobs. It is more common than what you think. Our responsibilities overwhelm us, and we wish to recover that time we haven’t spent together.

Reconnecting is never easy, but you can start by organizing your time to accommodate your loved ones into your schedule. Ask them what they like to do and find activities that you could enjoy together. Many activities can bring memories that last, from watching a game to axle throwing. It is never too late to reconnect with family and friends, just approach them with a great attitude and start working toward this goal. The hardest step is often the first step.

  • Sort out finances and cut back spending.

When it comes to savings and getting back on track with your finances, there is no better time than quarter one to get things in order. You might want to save for that new excavator, or you are trying to add a few trucks to your fleet. No matter what it is, there is nothing like adding the leading protection that has your back at all times. With TrüNorth Global™, you can add the commercial warranty to lessen the burden of unexpected breakdowns.

Our warranty can help resolve these challenges and more since they are designed to cover game-changing repairs that can bankrupt a commercial truck owner. With a truck warranty, you know exactly what’s covered and what’s not, making it easy to determine and maintain a budget for preventative maintenance and any deductibles that may apply to covered repairs. In addition, you can pay the total price of the truck warranty in advance or choose to make fixed, affordable monthly payments. So when a breakdown does occur, you’re not left scrambling for cash or disrupting business cash flow to cover needed repairs.
