Women in transportation? Several years ago this was not a common occurrence; women were rarely seen in the transportation industry. Over the years, we have seen tremendous growth of women in the transportation industry, which is largely due to organizations such as the Women in Trucking Association (WIT). In 2019 we partnered with WIT and this year TruNorth Global was named one of WIT’s Top Companies to work for in the transportation industry, an accomplishment that we are extremely proud to showcase.

We get it, when you talk about the trucking industry, most people imagine a male behind the wheel. Women have had a rough path to join the industry, where lack of opportunity and credibility have been some of the most significant factors to their lack of involvement. WIT’s mission is simply to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry. As women increasingly join the industry, they pave the way for future generations and better work conditions and recognition. There has been a lot done in the past couple of years to bring inclusiveness, but more is yet to come, and we are excited to be part of this journey.
